What is the Golden Ratio?

The Golden Ratio can be achieved if the ratio of 2 quantities is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the 2 quantities and the Greek letter phi(φ) represents the golden ratio.

The value of phi is: 1.618033….

 

The Fibonacci sequence

0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, …

Written as a rule it is:

And now it gets interesting! When we take any two successive numbers from the Fibonacci sequence, their ratio is very close to the Golden Ratio:
